Shekhar Ravjiani, who has been giving outstanding music compositions in Bollywood films with his partner Vishal Dadlani, has expressed his desire to work for megastar Amitabh Bachchan.

Ravjiani, who is a part of music duo Vishal-Shekhar, has composed award-winning music for movies including ‘Ra One’ (2011), ‘Student of The Year’ (2012) and Chennai Express’ (2013).

Now, Ravjiani wants to cut an independent single with Bachchan. He told PTI, “My dream is to take out a single with Amitabh Bachchan. I am his fan and love his voice. An independent song, not a film track with and for him is my ultimate dream. I would be happiest if that happens.” He says he shares a warm relationship with the legendary actor.

Bachchan launched the latest rendition of Ravjiani ‘Hanuman Chalisa’ recently. “He has always wished me luck for all the previous songs of mine. I used to send my songs to him after recording and he would respond with positive messages. So, this time I knew he had to launch this single. I asked him and he sweetly obliged. Nothing can better this,” he said.

He feels a great affinity towards independent songs as they give him personal satisfaction. “Independent singles are what I want to do at a personal level. They are not ambitious in nature. I don’t want fame from them but if people like them, I feel nice,” Ravjiani said.

“I want to sing in as many languages as I can. A North Eastern language is on my wish list. I feel through these songs, I get introduced to a different type of listeners and as an artiste it is very satisfying,” he concluded.
