Shahid Kapoor turned down Karan Johar’s ‘Dear Comrade’ remake?

It was announced recently that Karan Johar had acquired the rights of Telugu hit ‘Dear Comrade’ starring Vijay Deverakonda.

Since the news emerged, rumours about its potential cast has been doing the rounds. Earlier, rumours about Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor were refuted. However, it seems Shahid Kapoor, who starred in the blockbuster ‘Kabir Singh’, a remake of Telugu hit ‘Arjun Reddy’, turned down a role in the Johar film.

Kapoor recently spoke to GQ magazine about how he felt after the success of ‘Kabir Singh’. He said, “I kind of feel like I don’t belong here, I feel like a newcomer. I need to figure out this new room, and this new club that I’ve entered. Even though I’ve been here for 15-16 years, it’s not my comfort zone, I need to get my head around it.”

He added, “I can’t [afford to] feel like I know exactly what’s going on, and exactly what I need to do next. So I’m trying to keep it simple, and eventually, I’ll go with my instinct and my gut.”
