Shahid Kapoor says Kareena Kapoor Khan is the best thing about ‘Udta Punjab’

Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan last shared screen credits for ‘Jab We Met’ 2007). The duo will be seen in Abhishek Chaubey’s ‘Udta Punjab’ next and Kapoor admits that Kapoor Khan was the first actor who came to his mind when he read the script; he also believes she is “the best thing about the film”.

Speaking to DNA India, Shahid Kapoor said, “Bebo�۪s name to director Abhishek Chaubey. ���Actually, I never wanted to recommend Kareena because I was scared thinking about how people will perceive that again. When I was narrated the film, I thought of Kareena even before Alia. The role that Kareena plays, I felt she was just perfect for the role… Kareena heard the script and said yes to the film. It kind of happened and I felt really happy when it did… I feel she�۪s the best thing about the film because I was the one to give her name and I think highly of her as an actor.”

The actor is also excited about his own performance in the film, stating, “it’s the kind of role any actor would die for.”

‘Udta Punjab’ stars Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh. The film will release in the early months of 2016.
