Seema Pahwa who impressed the audiences with her energetic performances in ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ (2017) and ‘Shubh Mangal Savdhaan’ (2017), playing the roles of Kriti Senon and Bhumi Pednekar’s mother is set to make her directorial debut with a film titled ‘Pind Daan’.

Mumbai Mirror reports that the filming of ‘Pind Daan’ is set to commence in Lucknow, later this year. A large part of it will be shot there, with a short schedule planned for Mumbai. The family drama is expected to be completed by early 2019.

A source associated with the project revealed that besides directing it, Pahwa would also be acting in the film alongside Naseeruddin Shah, Konkona Sensharma, Vikrant Massey, Vinay Pathak and Parambrata Chatterjee. Pahwa’s husband, Manoj Pahwa, also plays a pivotal part. “Seema has been planning it for months now. She has directed plays in the past,” said the source.

Pahwa confirmed the news but stayed reserved about details. “Yes, I’m directing a film but I’m still finalising details so I cannot speak about it yet,” she said.
