Screen Awards 2026: ‘Dhurandhar’, ‘Homebound’ and ‘Saiyaara’ win big

The Screen Awards 2026 returned to Mumbai this evening after a period of absence. The awards resumed with a renewed sense of purpose, drawing the industry’s leading figures for an event that highlighted the year’s most significant achievements.

The ceremony was presented by Alia Bhatt, alongside comedians Zakir Khan and Sunil Grover, with Saurabh Dwivedi providing a measured editorial presence.

Aditya Dhar’s thriller ‘Dhurandhar’ asserted itself as the evening’s most decorated film, collecting 14 awards across major categories. Its strong showing reflected both its technical assurance and its resonance with audiences. Ranveer Singh’s performance in the film was among the night’s most decisive wins, reinforcing the film’s commanding position.

The award for Best Film went to ‘Homebound’, which secured three awards in total. Its success underscored the growing prominence of intimate, character‑centred storytelling within mainstream cinema. Shalini Vatsa’s recognition further highlighted the film’s strength in performance.

Music also played a notable role in the ceremony, with ‘Saiyaara’ earning two awards, including Best Song. Its title track, already widely embraced by listeners, was acknowledged for its melodic clarity and emotional impact.

A moment of reflection came with the Lifetime Achievement Award, presented posthumously to Dharmendra. The tribute, accepted by Bobby Deol, drew a sustained and heartfelt response from the audience, marking one of the evening’s most significant moments.
