Its common knowledge now that Yash Raj Films has postponed the release of ‘Daawat-e-Ishq’ but what’s not known is that the production giant approached Sanjay Leela Bhansali to delay his ‘Mary Kom’ to avoid the clash on 5th September.
Its worth noting here that Bhansali was originally expected to release ‘Mary Kom’ on 2nd October but was preponed due to a conflict with ‘Haider’ and ‘Bang Bang’ on the same day. The preponement resulted in ‘Mary Kom’ clashing with ‘Daawat-e-Ishq’. So when it came to Yash Raj Films asking Bhansali to shift ‘Mary Kom’, the filmmaker reportedly refused.
A source quoting to a leading website says, The makers of Mary Kom have changed their release date once, so they were not to keen to change it again. They have already started working on the film۪s publicity; changing the release date would۪ve disturbed a lot of things. Now Yash Raj has decided to postponse their film۪s release by two weeks; the Parineeti Chopra and Aditya Roy Kapur-starrer will release on September 19.
‘Daawat-e-Ishq’ however faces even more stiff competition on 19th September with ‘Khoobsurat’ and ‘3AM’ bound for release.
