Sanjay Leela Bhansali chose Deepika Padukone over Priyanka Chopra?

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone starrer ‘Ram Leela’ (2013) gave us the pair’s undeniable and very seductive on-screen chemistry, but if it wasn’t for a last minute casting change, it reportedly would of been Priyanka Chopra romancing Singh instead.

As according to Pinkvilla, Bharathi Pradhan’s book on Chopra titled ‘Priyanka Chopra: The Dark Horse’, she was the choice to play Leela after Kareena Kapoor Khan exited the film, but she was replaced by Padukone. Sandeep Singh, former CEO of Sanjay Leela Bhansali Productions’ revealed, “It was her desire to work with Bhansali and I believe that to this day, no film has fully tapped her talent. Anyway, shooting started with Deepika. PC was understandably no longer on talking terms with us.”

Chopra will next be seen alongside Salman Khan in ‘Bharat’.
