Sanjay Dutt receives parole extension until 21st March

Sanjay Dutt, who has been on parole for a period due to his wife�۪s Maanyata�۪s ill-health, has had another parole extension granted, BizAsia has learnt.

The Pune Divisional Commissioner had granted Dutt another 30 days until 21st March. Dutt is currently on his second parole period and was due to return to jail on 21st February. However, the hospitals who have been treating his wife have sent reports to the police and therefore an extension has been given.

Dutt is serving the remainder of his jail sentence following his possession of illegal arms during the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts case.
