Over a week ago, it was being said that Salman Khan’s home production would see him at the forefront in terms of promotions. However, now, it is thought he will be taking a backseat for the forthcoming ‘Hero’ and instead letting the two debutantes Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty take lead.

Deccan Chronicle report a source saying, “Salman wants Hero to be an out-and-out vehicle for the promotion of the two bachchas, who make their debut in the film.Salman wants Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty to be in the spotlight. Even suggestions that, he do a song and dance for the end-titles, were firmly turned down.”

“Salman wants the newcomers to be the centre of attention. If you remember, he had actively promoted his brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri۪s O Teri which featured Salman۪s rakhi-sister۪s husband Pulkit Samrat and family friend Tajdar Amrohi. The gambit backfired. Salman won۪t take that risk again,” continued the source.

Talking specifically about promotions, there seems to be no word of any first look of the film which is a little odd considering many films are always seen to have a look publicised early on. The source stated, “This is again Salman۪s idea. To start the promotional campaign closer to the release. He sees no point in starting months before the release date”.

‘Hero’ is scheduled for release on 3rd July.
