Salman Khan secures legal victory over protection of personality rights
Salman Khan has secured a significant legal victory after the Delhi High Court directed social media intermediaries to remove all content infringing upon his personality and publicity rights within three days.
The order came in response to a petition filed by Khan, who sought protection against the unauthorised commercial use of his name, voice, image and identity.
Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora instructed platforms to treat Khan’s plea as a formal complaint under the Information Technology (Intermediaries Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, and to act swiftly in accordance with the regulations.
