The war between Salman Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali has intensified after the filmmaker acquired the remake rights of South hit ‘Kanchana’, a project Khan was interested in acquiring too.

A few days ago, there was speculation that Khan was interested in the film so his brother Sohail can produce it, however, talks halted due to monetary issues. The film is rumoured to have costs Rs. 2.5 crore, which Bhansali has allegedly paid.

A source told Mid-Day, There has been a lot of rumours about Kanchana۪s remake. At the time when Salman was said to acquire the film, he was supposed to play the lead role in the film. Later, it was said that Shah Rukh Khan and Sanjay Dutt were also in race. Other filmmakers too seemed interested in the South hit. For Guzaarish too, it was Sallu who was to act in the film initially. But SLB later chose Hrithik Roshan over him and even cast Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.۝

It remains to be seen how things progress from here over the coming months.
