Salman Khan beats SRK to top Forbes India rich list

Salman Khan has overtaken Shah Rukh Khan on top in the annual Forbes India celebrity 100 list.

The list takes into account the estimates of entertainment related earnings and fame estimates during 1st October 2015 and 30th September 2016. News18 reports that Salman had the highest revenue for the year with Rs 270.33 crore on the back of blockbuster movies ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ (2015) and ‘Sultan’ (2016).

Shah Rukh Khan was just behind Salman at No.2 with estimated earnings of Rs. 221.75 crore. Indian cricketer, Virat Kohli was placed at No.3, jumping up from No.7 last year, with estimated earnings of Rs. 134.44 crore. Kohli was ranked on top though when it came to fame rankings.

Akshay Kumar moved to No.4 owing to the success of his last three films. He had estimated earnings of Rs. 203.03 crore. Indian chef, Sanjeev Kapoor was at No.73 as one of the big 14 newcomers this year. Badminton player, PV Sindhu was at No.62 and rapper Baadshah entered the chart at No.81.

Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone was the highest placed actress in the list with estimate earnings of Rs. 69.75 crore at No.6, followed by Priyanka Chopra with Rs. 76 crore at No.8.
