The Midlands’ biggest Asian radio station, Sabras Radio has announced plans for this weekend’s Diwali festival.
As already confirmed, the station has signed up Indian television’s hottest on screen couple Karan Tacker & Krystle D Souza to headline it’s two events. They both featured in Star Plus’ ‘Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai’.
Both Tacker and DSouza will headline the station’s ‘Diwali Hungama’ event at Curve theatre in Leicester on Saturday 2nd November, alongside British Asian singers Navin Kundra, Tariq Khan from Legacy and producer GV. There’s also appearances by dancers Bolly Twins and the current Miss India World, Nehal Bhogatia. The show is a ticketed event, which are currently on sale through Curve.
The second event is the huge Diwali Day Street Party on Sunday 3rd November, once again featuring Karan Tacker and Krystle DSouza. The outdoor event, which usually attracts over 30,000 people from up and down the country, is set to be the biggest yet. Sabras Radio has lined up performances by Kulwinder Johal, Gurbhej Brar, Foji, Sarika Gill and a few others, including dancers. The ‘Diwali Day Street Party’ takes place outside the Habib Bank, Belgrave Rd, Leicester. The event will also be broadcast live on Sabras Radio between 18:00 and 21:00.
Raj Baddhan, Operations Manager of Sabras Radio said, “We have been working hard to ensure we beat last year’s successful shows and thus have roped in TV stars from India as well as creme da le creme of the UK Asian music scene. Our listeners are in for a rocking Diwali weekend.”
Sabras Radio is also broadcasting special programmes to coincide with Diwali throughout this weekend.
