Rumours of ‘Hichki’ sequel denied

Rani Mukerji made a successful comeback with ‘Hichki’ earlier this year and while the film did well at the box office, rumours have been rife about a possible sequel.

Director Siddharth P Malhotra denied the news. He was cited in Deccan Chronicle saying, “There are no plans for the sequel. So I am very clear she is doing Mardani 2 and I am doing a different film right now. It’s a human relationship based film, and besides that, there is no Hichki 2.”

‘Hichki’ was appreciated for its unique storyline based on a character suffering from Tourette syndrome.

Malhotra has also added who he would most like to work with in a future project. He said, “I would love to collaborate with both Rani and Kajol — it will be fun. Kajol is one of my closest friends and Rani has become a very dear friend to me.”
