Rumours of Akshay Kumar in ‘Dhoom 4’ re-ignite

Rumours about the fourth installment in the Yash Raj Films’ thriller franchise ‘Dhoom’ have been doing the rounds for the past few months.

It now seems that an antagonist for ‘Dhoom 4’ has been firmed up. If industry speculation is to be believed then Akshay Kumar has been roped in for the negative character in the film. Earlier, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan were linked to the project.

Previously, a source told Mid-Day about Kumar’s involvement in the project. It said, “Akshay’s larger-than-life villain act in 2.0 [2018] convinced Adi that he would be the perfect fit for the next instalment of Dhoom. The duo has had some meetings, including the first round of narration. The role is of a suave underworld don and is much more nuanced than the villains of the previous editions. If all goes well, Akshay and Aditya will make an announcement by the year-end. Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra may not appear in the fourth part while beauty queen Manushi Chhillar may play the female lead.”

Yash Raj Films had earlier denied the rumours but its been a while since the news emerged and it now seems certain that Kumar is a part of the franchise.
