Rohit Shetty to introduce first ever female villain in ‘Golmaal 5’
Rohit Shetty is set to take the ‘Golmaal’ franchise in a new direction with ‘Golmaal 5’, which will introduce the series’ first‑ever female villain. The fantasy‑comedy is scheduled to begin filming in March 2026 in Goa, marking a fresh chapter for one of Bollywood’s most successful comedy brands.
The film will reunite the original ensemble, with Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, and Kunal Kemmu all returning. In a nostalgic addition, Sharman Joshi will also rejoin the cast, reconnecting with the franchise after appearing in the first instalment. Supporting favourites including Johnny Lever, Ashwini Kaleshkar, Mukesh Tiwari, and Sanjay Mishra are also expected to reprise their roles.
One of the most notable creative shifts in ‘Golmaal 5’ is the decision to feature a female antagonist for the first time. Casting discussions are currently underway, with the script reportedly written specifically to position a woman as the central negative force.
