With the huge success of his debut directorial film ‘I am Kalam’ (2010), and receiving great acclaim at the Cannes Film Festival 2012��for his recent project ‘Jalpari’ (2012), Nila Madhab Panda is in the process of writing a script for his next venture.��However, news has it that the director is in talks with some of Hollywood’s big names to make an appearance in the film.
According to Hindustan Times,��Panda is in communication with the ‘Pretty Woman’ (1990) actor Richard Gere, to star in his untitled��project. Speaking to reporters Panda stated, “We�۪re talking to a lot of people. Nothing is confirmed yet, but this film will be much bigger…” Panda went onto explain, that though he was still in conversation with Gere and nothing is confirmed with the actor as of yet.
The character in question is the role of a foreigner who gets caught up in the social politics of a village in India during his visit. It was also rumoured that the director had approached Harrison Ford, although Panda has not commented on this matter.
