Ranveer Singh becomes B-town’s second Rs 500 crore hero

Ranveer Singh has apparently followed in the footsteps of Salman Khan with his last film ‘Simmba’ (2018) which seems to be continuing its dream run at the box office. The actor’s films last year have added up to over Rs 500 crore.

According to Asian Age, ‘Padmaavat’ (2018) made Rs 282 crore and, added to the Rs 200 crore that ‘Simmba’ has crossed, this makes Singh the second 500 crore club hero. A trade analyst stated, “It is unprecedented that two films of a big star release in the same year and they manage to collect so much. Salman did have a big wave in 2015, and that made `500 crore possible. Ranveer is having the time of his life and hence this will be possible by this weekend”.

Singh’s latest movie ‘Gully Boy’ will be coming on Valentine’s Day. The trailer has wowed the industry and social media.
