Ranbir Kapoor refuses to accept Deepika Padukone as lucky charm

Tamasha - Ranbir Deepika

Ranbir Kapoor, who has delivered two massive hits with his ex-girlfriend Deepika Padukone in ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’ (2008) and ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ (2013) refused to tag the actress as his lucky charm saying that he doesn’t want to take away her credit by saying so.

Speaking to Times of India, Kapoor said, “I think when you call an actor a lucky charm, you are somehow discrediting his or her achievement.”

“Deepika is a hard worker and whatever she has achieved till date is because of her tremendous effort. I wouldn’t like to call her lucky charm,” he added about the actress, who has given hits like ‘Happy New Year’ (2014) and ‘Piku’ (2015) in the recent past.

Kapoor also pointed out Padukone’s quality of being effortless while choosing her films. “She gives her heart and soul to every film and her choice of work is commendable. I think all the credit goes to her,” he said.

Taking a dig at his on-screen and off-screen chemistry with his ex-flame, Kapoor said, “We have been in this industry for eight years. We both are trying our best as actors and hope that the audience will love our performance on-screen. Deepika and I are dear friends and I am a big fan of hers. So, we don’t worry about our personal equation or what others think of it.”

Padukone agreed with Kapoor, saying, “We usually agree with each other. But I feel very uncomfortable when people ask something like this. More than anything else, I value the friendship and respect we have for each other.”

‘Tamasha’ will see them sharing the screen once again and is scheduled to hit silver screens on 27th November.
