Ranbir-Deepika not to return ‘Tamasha’ fee to producers

Expectations were very high with Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone’s film ‘Tamasha’ (2015). However, the film generated an average business at the box office.

According to Times of India, the lead stars of the film Kapoor and Padukone were to return some part of their remuneration to the filmmakers as the film went flat at the box office. The report added that Kapoor was set to return Rs 10 crore, while Padukone was returning Rs 5 crore to UTV and Sajid Nadiadwala.

However sources close to the film denied the news to PinkVilla, ���Ranbir and Deepika story is untrue. They both are proud of the film and a lot of people have loved the movie. As far as returning the money is concerned, it is ABSURD.”
