Rajkummar Rao set to film Sourav Ganguly biopic from March at Lord’s & Eden Gardens
Rajkummar Rao will begin filming the Sourav Ganguly biopic in March, with two of cricket’s most iconic venues – Lord’s Cricket Ground in London and Eden Gardens in Kolkata, set as major locations. Directed by Vikramaditya Motwane and produced by Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg under Luv Films, the project aims to capture defining moments from Ganguly’s celebrated career with as much authenticity as possible.
A source close to the production says the team has deliberately chosen Lord’s and Eden Gardens to recreate pivotal chapters from Ganguly’s journey. Lord’s, often described as the Mecca of Cricket, holds particular significance in his career, making it an essential backdrop for the film. Eden Gardens, Ganguly’s home ground and one of the sport’s most storied stadiums, will also feature prominently.
