Birmingham’s popular Asian radio station, Radio XL has suddenly ceased broadcasting on digital radio.
The station, which has been available on the Birmingham multiplex for the past few years, has been in the process of extending its reach on digital to the whole of the West Midlands.
It is currently not known why the process has resulted in the Birmingham feed being switched off.
Listeners in Birmingham are getting “Station Off Air” message on the old digital radio label. The analogue signal on 1296AM is unaffected.
In recent weeks, Sunrise Radio has stopped its broadcast in the region, as well as Sanjhi Awaz Radio, which has packed up completely.
At the time of filing this article, BizAsia was awaiting a response from Radio XL.
