Radio Minhaj awarded community licence in London
Radio Minhaj has been awarded a community licence by Ofcom today, to broadcast in the Newham area of London.
The station’s output will provide a community radio service for black, Asian and other ethnic minorities in Newham.
Radio Minhaj, was one of four stations awarded a licence, along with three other non-Asian radio stations. Nomad Radio, which was also awarded a licence will provide a community radio service for the Somali community in Hammersmith and Fulham.
Community radio services are provided on a not-for-profit basis, focusing on the delivery of specific social benefits to a particular geographical community or a community of interest.
