Raaj Radio falls off the air; future in doubt?

The future of Leicester based community radio station Raaj Radio seems to be in doubt after it went off air yesterday afternoon.

Raaj Radio, which broadcasts on Sky Digital channel 0141 and has previously carried out various RSL’s (28-day FM Radio Service Licence) has since been broadcasting an error signal.

A source at the station’s uplinking party confirmed the station was taken off air for reasons they could not disclose due to confidentiality. The source also could not comment on when and if the station would return.

BizAsia.co.uk also attempted to contact Raaj Radio but was unsuccessful. The station’s phone voicemail was also said to be full, most probably with messages from concerned listeners.

Raaj Radio commenced broadcasting in August 2004.
