Director Luv Ranjan is very happy after the stupendous performance of ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2’ (2015) as movie managed to cross Rs. 60 crore mark at the box-office. After this huge success, he admitted that movies can do good business even without casting big names.
“When we get the result of hard work, it gives immense pleasure. So our film ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2’ has got good response from audience and I am very happy. If our film wasn’t good enough, people wouldn’t have liked it so much,” Ranjan told Hindustan Times.
“I’m happy that people believed in my belief that successful films can be made without big stars. The film has fared well and is still doing fair business_ Making a good movie is my job, how much business would a film do, that۪s not for me to look out for,” said Ranjan, whose previous film ‘Akaash Vani’ (2013) was a box office failure.
“It took me three years to put together a sequel (to ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama’). It may take me another three years or even more to come up with another film. Right now ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama’ is doing well_ let’s see what will be the next,” he said.
‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2’ casts Kartik Aaryan, Nushrat Bharucha, Sunny Singh, Sonnalli Saygal, Omkar Kapoor and Ishita Raj in essential roles.
