PTC Punjabi launches on Sky in UK
PTC Punjabi has finally launched in the UK on Sky Digital today.
The channel is available free-to-air, replacing Music India on channel 822 on the Sky line-up.
PTC Punjabi UK programming will consist of a mixture of music, religious, reality TV and dramas to cater for the whole family. Having exclusive access to PTC Punjabi�۪s launch schedule, BizAsia can reveal that the Live Gurbani from Amritsar�۪s Harmandir Sahib will continue in its 04:00 ��� 08:00 slot in the morning and 16:30 ��� 18:30 in the evening.
Furthermore, the channel will broadcast news bulletins at 08:00,11:00, 18:30 and 03:00 time slots. Other bands are filled with music related shows ��Bhangra Rocks�۪ at 08:30 and 02:00 (60 minutes), ��Hit Squad�۪ at 10:30, 19:30 and 22:30 (90 minutes), ��Non Stop Hits�۪ and ��Film Songs�۪ at 14:30 (120 minutes), plus ��Night Out�۪ weekdays at 23:30 (90 minutes).
The channel will also broadcast four blockbuster Punjabi movies per weekend. Films will be telecast at 13:00 and 20:00 on Saturday and Sundays. PTC Punjabi has recently acquired a slew of Punjabi films which it will announce in due course.
PTC Punjabi will broadcast talent show ��Voice Of Punjabi�۪ at 20:00 (120 minutes) Monday through to Thursday. Popular chat based shows like ��PTC Superstar�۪ will air Saturdays at 09:30 and ‘The Masters’ weekdays at 19:00. Chart show ��Preeto�۪ will take the Friday 21:30 slot.
All in all, the channel is set to rival the likes of more established players in the UK including ZEE Punjabi (premium) and free-to-air channels like Brit Asia TV, Sikh Channel and Sangat TV (religious output).
PTC Punjabi will be available free-to-air on Sky Digital channel 822.
PTC Punjabi was initially set to launch on Monday 4th February but was postponed for two weeks due to a technical issue.
