Priyanka Chopra skips ‘Barfi!’ bash to be beside ailing father

Priyanka Chopra�۪s father Ashok Chopra, who�۪s been battling cancer for some time now was taken ill last night, forcing the actress to skip a bash for her upcoming release ��Barfi!�۪ at a nightspot in Mumbai.

“Priyanka was very happy after the promo launch. She was looking forward to partying with her team members and co-stars Ranbir Kapoor and Ileana D’Cruz. However, on her way out from the venue, she got a call. Her father was very unwell. She left for home immediately,�۝ said a source to the Times of India.

“She had to leave for Dubai the next day. She had to make sure her father was fine before that,” the source went on to add.

The party was held to celebrate the response to the first promo of ��Barfi!�۪ which has apparently been overwhelming.

Helmed by Anurag Basu and produced by UTV, ��Barfi!�۪ recounts the story of Murphy (Kapoor) ��� a deaf, mute character and his love story with an autistic girl Jhilmil (Chopra). The film also stars Telugu star Ileana D�۪Cruz as the film�۪s narrator.
