Priyanka Chopra hits back at ‘Bajirao Mastani’ controversy

Actress Priyanka Chopra has hit back at the controversy brawled by Shiv Sena.

The political group made comments about the film including inaccurate information about the historic warrior leader Bajirao, in which the film has taken inspiration from a book based on his life. The actress has now spoken up against his remarks, as reported by NDTV, stating, “We live in a democracy and this is a film. there is difference between inspired from history and based on history.”

“The book came out years ago, why weren’t objections raised then? Just because this is a film with a big budget and a big cast? If someone’s sentiments are getting hurt, then they should have been hurt with the book too?” She added.

Also starring Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, ‘Bajirao Mastani’ is a Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial which is set for release on 18th December.
