Priyanka Chopra gives herself sole credit for success

Priyanka Chopra

From winning the Miss World beauty pageant in 2000, Priyanka Chopra has come a long way in her career. In fact, with internationally acclaimed stardom she is one of the most high-profile celebrities and sought after artists of her generation. Whilst many people would applaud and commend her for having an organised and dedicated team, evidenced by her success, the leading Bollywood actress says the credit for her work is down to her own hardship and commitment, nobody else.

According toIndian Express, Chopra had delved in the topic withIANSduring her visit to Delhi where she was due to receive the prestigiousPadma Shri honour from President Pranab Mukherjee, “I do have a phenomenal team because they handle two continents of my scheduling and more than anything else, they make sure that nobody gets pissed off because I am spread too thin.”

The protagonist of the American TV series ‘Quantico'(2015)added, “Having said that, I feel that I am destiny’s favourite child. I have made sure that whatever opportunity comes my way, I give my heart and soul to it. So the credit of my work goes only and solely to me, because I am the one who stands in front of the camera between action and cuts and nobody else does.”

Chopra, who is also a well known philanthropist and even has her own foundation which supportseducation and health for underprivileged girls, clarified that it is important to give credit where it is due. ” People take credit away from working girls by giving it to somebody else, saying ‘Isko toh banaya hai’ (her success has been made by others), but my question is, ‘Koi aur kyun nahi bana abhi tak?’ (Why has someone else not made it yet?)”

Chopra’s journey in showbiz started at the age of 17 and since then she holds credit as an actress cum singer cum producer and even a television host in 2010, during the third season of ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’.

The superstar is currently shooting for Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson produced, ‘Baywatch’, which also stars Zac Efron.
