Prime Video unveils international slate for 2026
Prime Video has highlighted the growing global appetite for non‑English language films and series at its inaugural Prime Video Presents: International Originals showcase in London. The event previewed a wide range of international projects set to release through 2026, with executives and talent from across the world in attendance.
The showcase was introduced by Kelly Day, Vice President of Prime Video & Amazon MGM Studios International, and hosted by Nicole Clemens, Vice President of International Originals. Actors Stanley Tucci, Nicole Wallace, Park Min‑young, Wi Hajun, Dolores Fonzi and Alia Bhatt, along with author Mercedes Ron, were among the guests.
Day revealed that the Spanish‑language ‘Culpables’ trilogy — ‘Culpa Mía’, ‘Culpa Tuya’ and ‘Culpa Nuestra’ — has been watched by more than 100 million viewers worldwide. The films, adapted from Ron’s bestselling novels, reached number one in over 170 countries at launch, with more than 90% of viewers coming from outside Spain.
She noted that international storytelling is flourishing on the platform, supported by advances in personalisation, language settings and the expansion of subtitles and dubbing in more than 30 languages. Day added that AI is increasingly helping audiences discover content from a wider range of countries.
Nicole Clemens announced that Amazon MGM Studios is developing Ron’s latest novel, ‘30 sunsets para enamorarte’, marking the first U.S. adaptation of the Spanish author’s work. The project forms part of Prime Video’s ‘House of Ron’ initiative, which includes ten book‑to‑screen adaptations. Clemens also shared the Top 10 most‑watched non‑English language International Originals released between January 2025 and January 2026, reflecting record‑breaking global viewership across five different countries.

Gaurav Gandhi, Vice President of Prime Video APAC, spoke about the rising global demand for content from the Asia‑Pacific region, particularly Korean dramas, Japanese anime and Indian films and series. He emphasised that these titles are now among the most‑watched outside their home countries on Prime Video.
Discussing her partnership with Amazon MGM Studios, Mercedes Ron said her experience working on the ‘House of Ron’ slate has been defined by trust and a shared understanding of young‑adult storytelling. “Amazon really loves these kinds of stories and understands the fandom,” she said, adding that this respect is why audiences feel the platform is producing some of the strongest book adaptations.
Actress Nicole Wallace also took part in the discussion, reflecting on the growing international reach of non‑English language productions and the opportunities they create for emerging talent.
