Poll: &TV voted top UK Asian HD channel

&TV has come up on top in a poll for HD Asian channels in the UK, conducted by the UK’s only Asian media and entertainment website, BizAsiaLive.com .

&TV was voted by 111 readers (38%) as their favourite Asian HD channel in the UK. Incidentally, &TV UK was the first free-to-air Asian HD channel in the UK to launch nearly two years ago. In second place was the recently launched Colors with 75 votes (26%) and market leader Star Plus just behind with 72 votes (25%). The remainder of the votes went to the option of “Don’t have access to these HD channels” – with 35 votes (12%).

The UK is still behind other markets in terms of UK Asian HD channels. Two factors could behind this: 1. Running a HD channel is rather expensive – around £1m on the Sky platform 2. Ratings have shown that viewers will watch a channel for its content, HD or not.

The poll was conducted over a two week period between 19th Mach – 2nd April 2017.
