‘Piku’ wins awards at the Indian Film Festival in Russia

‘Piku’

‘Piku’ (2015)��has won accolades all over, whether it was commercially or critically. Starring Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Irrfan Khan, the film has already started winning international awards. The latest honors has been from the Indian Film Festival in Russia.

As according to Absolute India, ‘Piku’ has been awarded with the ‘Best Film’ and the ‘Best Director’ titles respectively at the festival. Film Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh also took to Twitter to announce the news, saying, (@taran_adarsh), “#Piku continues its wins at Festivals abroad. Wins Best Film and Best Director titles at Indian Film Festival in Russia.”

‘Piku’ also bagged the title of ‘Best Film’ at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne at the beginning of the week.��A humbled Shoojit Sircar, the director of ‘Piku’ said, “I am truly humbled by all the love and accolades coming our way. I am thankful to Team Piku for all the hard work that went into making it a memorable experience for all of us.”

Producer Sneha Rajani is also very grateful for the wins, saying, “We are extremely grateful for Piku’s glorious wins at the festivals abroad. We thank the organizers of the Indian Film Festival in Russia for this honor. The film has been a labor of love for all of us. We thank Shoojit Da and writer Juhi Chaturvedi for bringing alive the world of Piku.”

‘Piku’ released on 8th May, where we saw Bachchan and Padukone play a father-daughter duo for the first time.
