Payal Rajput on ‘RX 100’ remake: “Nobody can do this role better than me”

On Tuesday, Sajid Nadiadwala officially announced Tara Sutaria’s name as the female lead opposite debutante Ahan Shetty in the Hindi remake of Telugu blockbuster ‘RX 100’ (2018).

The original film starred Kartikeya Gummakonda and Payal Rajput in the lead roles, reports Deccan Chronicle. When asked about Sutaria’s casting for the Hindi remake, Rajput exclusively said, “I’m really happy that Sajid Nadiadwala sir decided to remake RX 100 in Bollywood. It’s good that they cast Tara for the role but I think nobody can do this role better than me.” She also said, “I have not seen her acting yet. But if Sajid sir signed her for the role then he must have seen her talent before choosing for the film.”

“Initially, I was little nervous as the character was quite bold. It was difficult for me to do such kind of role for my debut film in Telugu. But I always wanted to break the stereotype. I want to do every kind of movies. I did something different for which people appreciated me,” Rajput quipped.

Rajput has worked in Punjabi and Telugu movies. The star is waiting for the right script and character to enter in Bollywood. “I would love to work in Bollywood but I’m waiting for the right character for my debut in Hindi cinema.”

Meanwhile, the ‘RX 100’ Hindi remake is helmed by Milan Luthria. The film produced under the banner Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and presented by Fox Star Studios will go on floors by June 2019.
