Parineeti Chopra responds to classmate’s comments about her

Parineeti Chopra was at a martial arts event recently where she spoke about her humble beginnings and her childhood. However, a former school mate has confronted the star and claimed to have exposed her as lying.

Whilst talking about safety, Chopra spoke about how her dad would make her ride a cycle to school to make her more independent. She said, “We didn’t have that much money that time. I used to ride a cycle to school. There was no money for a car or a driver.” She also recalled how boys would tease her when she rode her cycle in her school uniform, reports DNA India.

A former classmate of Chopra then slammed Chopra’s comments and claimed to have uncovered her fib in a Facebook post. Kkanoo Gupta wrote, “Parineeti Chopra shame… coming from a privileged background and lying through the teeth in front of the camera. I guess this is what being a celebrity means. Create a fabricated sob story of no money no car etc.” Gupta went on to write, “Coming from the same school I probably also remember the car her father used to have. And going to school on a cycle was a trend those days and also a privilege, not everyone had. My friends from CJM would probably understand the lies a bit better.”

In response, Chopra responded with her reaction to all such claims and has released an official statement. She has asked the media to not give precedence to such stories over the intent of her visit to Akshay Kumar’s martial arts class.
