Parineeti Chopra confirms debut song to release this year

Following in the footsteps of Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt and Shraddha Kapoor, Parineeti Chopra has confirmed that she will be making her singing debut with her first song this year.

Talking to Mumbai Mirror, Chopra said, “I am a great singer and have been waiting to record my first single. I even told Vaibhavi Merchant that I want to be a part of her hit musical, Taj Express. I love being on stage and will hopefully be recording my first song this year. It will not be a pop, jazz or rock number but a Burlesque-style single. Being on Broadway is my ultimate dream and my single could be a step towards it.

In the same interview, she told the newspaper that she was not on a Bollywood break and that she would start work on her next film year-end. She said, “What sabbatical? It has just been six months since my last release. I start shooting for my next film by the end of the year and also have multiple scripts on my platter. I’ve taken breaks of six to eight months in the past, it’s only this time that I’ve been getting all these texts wondering why I’ve disappeared from the industry. When Kangana (Ranaut) or Deepika (Padukone) wrap up a film, they don’t jump into their next film the following morning, do they?”

Chopra’s last film ‘Kill Dil’ was a box office disaster.
