Pakistan puts Salman Khan on terror watchlist after Balochistan remark
Salman Khan has been placed on Pakistan’s terror watchlist following a controversial remark made during the Joy Forum 2025 in Riyadh. While speaking on a panel alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan, Salman referred to “people from Balochistan, Afghanistan, and Pakistan” as part of the South Asian workforce in the Gulf, a phrasing that Pakistani officials interpreted as a separatist endorsement.
The Pakistani government responded by adding Khan to the Fourth Schedule of the 1997 Anti-Terrorism Act, a list reserved for individuals under surveillance for suspected anti-state activities. Inclusion on this list imposes travel restrictions, monitoring, and potential prosecution.
