Pak Information Minister says Geo TV should not close

The Pakistan Information Minister, Pervaiz Rashid has said that Geo TV should not be shutdown and the network’s apology should be accepted.

At a media conference in Islamabad, Rashid said he had resisted closure of channels in the past and still sticks to his stance.

Pervaiz Rashid said if Geo TV or any other channel made mistake and extended apology, it should not go off-air.

He said if any channel makes mistake and tenders apology over its mistake it should be accepted and the matter should not prolonged keeping in view other issues faced by the country, therefore, they say ���Jeeo aur Jeeny Do�۝.

The minister said it was not the matter of Geo, but the issue of freedom of expression in the democratic society.
