‘Padmaavat’ not banned in Uttar Pradesh

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmaavat’ will not be banned in Uttar Pradesh despite threats from the Karni Sena to disrupt the release on 25th January 2018.

According to The New Indian Express, the State’s government said that there was no order as such to ban the film’s release.

A senior Home Department official said, “But, in view of the protest calls from some quarters and the law and order in mind, a close watch is being kept on the developments.”
