Overnights: ‘Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior’ premiere hits 100k for Star Plus UK

The UK television premiere of ‘Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior’ on Star Plus on Sunday night proved a stomping success, with over 100,000 viewers tuning in – making it one of the most successful television premieres in recent times, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsiaLive.com.

Star Plus rocketed to the No.1 position with an impressive share of 0.22%, followed by Sony TV with 0.12%, Colors with 0.07%, Star Gold and New Vision TV with 0.06%, Colors Rishtey, Colors Cineplex and Dunya News with 0.05%, Sony SAB TV, B4U Movies and PTC Punjabi with 0.04%, Sony MAX and Sony MAX 2 with 0.03%, Star Bharat, Hum TV, BritAsia TV, Republic Bharat, ZEE TV and ZEE Cinema with 0.02%, Geo TV with 0.01%.

Star Plus annihilated its rivals with the historic drama ‘Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior’, which fetched a whopping 93,300 viewers at 20:00 – peaking at 146,400 viewers. The channel sailed to victory with the massive numbers – the biggest audience for a Hindi movie premiere on UK Asian TV in years. The repeat telecast of thriller ‘Mardaani 2’ starring Rani Mukerji also did well with 40,000 viewers at 22:30. Earlier in the day, ‘Mahabharat’ was watched by 13,000 viewers.

On Sony TV, ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ continued to perform strongly with 47,800 viewers at 21:30, followed by ‘India’s Best Dancer’ at 20:00 with 19,700 viewers and ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ at 16:45 with 19,100 viewers.

On Colors, the final of ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi 10’, which was won by Karishma Tanna, attracted an average 20,000 viewers. ‘Naagin 4’ was top show with 42,000 viewers at 19:00.

On Star Gold, ‘Dishoom’ led with 15,700 viewers at 23:30, followed by ‘Badhaai Ho’ at 21:00 with 8,000 viewers and ‘Angrezi Medium’ at 18:00 with 6,800 viewers.

On Hum TV, ‘Tanhai’ pulled in 13,400 viewers at 21:00.

On ZEE TV, ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil Champs’ raked in 13,600 viewers at 19:00.

On ZEE Cinema, premiere of ‘Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3’ at 18:00 was watched by 2,500 viewers.
