Overnights: ‘SaraswatiChandra’ returns to top

'SaraswatiChandra' back on top on Star Plus

‘SaraswatiChandra’, which has been away from the pole position this week, made a return to the top last night, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsia.

The Sanjay Leela Bhansali production on Star Plus attracted 239,200 viewers at 19:30 – peaking at 279,500 viewers. In second place was ‘MasterChef India’ with 235,800 viewers, followed by ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ with 182,400.

The others in the pecking order were ‘Pyar Ka Dard Hai’ (161,300), ‘Veera’ (153,600), ‘Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai’ (149,700), ‘Saathiya’ (134,900), ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ (100,900) and ‘Ek Ghar Banuanga’ (40,000).

On Rishtey, ‘Na Aana Iss Desh Laado’ pulled 70,000 viewers, followed by ‘Bairi Piya’ with 66,600 and ‘Bani – Ishq Da Kalma’ next with 26,300 viewers.

Sony SAB TV had an impressive night with ‘Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ attracting a record 101,900 viewers, followed by ‘Chidiyaghar’ with 81,900 and ‘BaalVeer’ in third with 60,700 viewers.

Zing’s first day also broadcasting on Virgin Media did well with ‘Bollywood Families’ proving popular with 25,600 viewers, followed by ‘World Of Bollywood’ with 17,900. ‘Cloud 9’ rated zero in both slots at 18:30 and 22:30.

On Star Life Ok, ‘Amrit Manthan’ pulled in the biggest ever audience since it moved to the 19:30 slot with 68,300 viewers, followed by ‘Savdhaan India’ with 27,300 viewers and ‘2613’ repeat at 23:30 with 25,200 viewers.

On ITV4, the ongoing Indian Premier League pulled in an average 148,300 viewers between 11:00 and 20:00 – peaking at 312,400 viewers.
