Overnights: Prime TV leads PSL 2017 coverage in UK

The much awaited Pakistan Super League has got off to a slow start in UK ratings on Thursday, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsiaLive.com.

The coverage of the tournament, which this time is shared between four UK broadcasters, saw Prime TV lead with 7,500 viewers tuning in for the Opening Ceremony and first match between Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi. The coverage on the channel started at 15:00 up until 20:00. Its coverage peaked at 19,700 viewers. The first highlights show at 22:05 (until midnight) pulled in 5,000 viewers.

Meanwhile, Geo TV’s coverage of the series raked in another 4,100 viewers from 14:30. It peaked to 18,800 viewers. The other two broadcasters – A Plus Europe and UK 44, which also showed the series, will begin BARB reporting next week.

On Star Plus, the biggest show was ‘Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil’, which registered 161,500 viewers at 20:00 – peaking at 180,500 viewers, followed by ‘Naamkarann’ at 21:00 with 154,100 viewers and ‘Ishqbaaaz’ at 21:30 with 125,000 viewers.

On Colors, ‘Swabhimaan’ delivered 13,900 viewers, followed by ‘Devanshi’ at 19:00 with 9,700 viewers and ‘Udann’ at 20:30 with 7,700 viewers.

On Rishtey, ‘Uttaran’ at 18:30 with 35,900 viewers, followed by ‘Bandini’ at 21:30 with 33,400 viewers and ‘Balika Vadhu’ at 21:00 with 33,300 viewers.

On &TV, movie ‘Kashmakash’ at 14:30 did incredibly well with 27,500 viewers. One of the biggest highlights on UK Asian TV yesterday. Primetime on the channel had ‘Badho Bahu’ lead with 28,700 viewers, followed by ‘Gangaa’ at 20:00 with 27,800 viewers and ‘Queens Hain Hum’ at 21:30 with 24,100 viewers.

On Hum TV, ‘Sang-e-Mar Mar’ at 20:00 was watched by 39,500 viewers, followed by ‘Jethani’ at 19:30 with 25,100 viewers.

On Geo TV, ‘Roshni’ at 21:00 fetched 17,000 viewers.
