Overnights: Nearly 8 million watch Rahul Mandal win ‘GBBO’

Nearly 8 million viewers tuned into watch Dr Rahul Mandal being crowned winner in Channel 4’s hugely successful show ‘Great British Bake Off’.

The show was watched by 7.5 million viewers between 20:00 and 21:15 – peaking at 8.1 million viewers. Mandal, who only got into baking a couple of years, beat off competition from runners up, Kim-Joy Hewlett and Ruby Bhogal.
