The controversial documentary ‘Muslim Drag Queens’ proved a hit for Channel 4 last night, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsia.

The show, which followed a group of drag queens and their struggles in the gay sector as Muslims, was watched by 1 million viewers (including Channel 4 +1) – peaking at 1.4 million during the course of the show.

On Star Plus, the most watched show was ‘Mere Angne Mein’ at 17:30 with 109,000 viewers, followed by ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ at 21:00 with 82,200 viewers and ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ at 19:30 with 79,900 viewers.

On Colors, there was a surge of viewership on two shows with ‘Swaragini’ topping ratings with a record 146,100 viewers tuning in at 21:30, followed by ‘Code Red’ at 22:00 with 113,400 viewers – another record high for the channel.

On Rishtey, ‘Meri Aashiqui’ at 20:30 was watched by 88,100 viewers, followed by ‘Thapki’ at 20:00 with 67,200 viewers and ‘Kaisi Yeh Yaariaan’ at 21:00 with 34,500 viewers.

On &TV, ‘Gangaa’ was top with 20,600 viewers at 20:00, followed by ‘Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hain’ at 20:30 with 14,100 viewers and ‘Razia Sultan’ at 19:00 with 7,000 viewers.

On Hum TV, ‘Man-o-Salwa’ at 21:00 took lead with 55,500 viewers, followed by ‘Karb’ at 20:00 with 32,700 viewers.
