Overnights: ‘Mission Sapne’ opens well on Sunday

It was a winning night for Colors on Sunday with its tweaked primetime schedule, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsia.

For the first time in weeks, Colors edged out Star Plus by garnering a bigger viewership. The evening kicked off with ‘Stree Shakti Awards’ at 18:00, which raked in 17,500 viewers, followed by the launch of the channel’s big show ‘Mission Sapne’ at 20:00. The first episode featuring Ranbir Kapoor meeting the general public pulled in an impressive 42,300 viewers – making it the second most watched show of the night in the UK.

‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ was the most watched show last night on UK Asian telly with 52,200 viewers – peaking at 68,300 viewers. ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’ featuring the stars from ‘2 States’ did well with 41,800 viewers at 22:15.

Comparatively on Star Plus, the re-cap of ‘Ek Hasina Thi’ at 20:00 could only generate 6,000 viewers, followed by ‘Mad In India’ at 21:00 with 34,900 viewers and ‘Ishq Kills’ at 22:00 with 27,400 viewers.

On Zing, ‘Life & Times Of A Star’ was the channel’s most watched show at 16:30 with 28,600 viewers, followed by the movie ‘Trimurti’ at 20:00 with 18,400 viewers.

On UMP Movies, the free-to-air premiere of ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif at 21:00 was the most watched movie yesterday with 50,100 viewers – peaking at 106,200 viewers.
