The popular cookery show ‘MasterChef India’ won the ratings battle in the UK amongst Asian TV shows, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsia.

The 20:00 show attracted 230,300 viewers – peaking at 245,800 viewers. In second place was ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ with 195,400 viewers, followed by ‘SaraswatiChandra’ with 176,800 viewers.

The others in the pecking order were ‘Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai’ (167,600), ‘Pyar Ka Dard Hai’ (141,500), ‘Saathiya’ (136,000), ‘Veera’ (122,700), ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ (93,600) and ‘Ek Ghar Banuanga’ (26,900).

On Rishtey, ‘Bairi Piya’ attracted 41,200 viewers, followed by ‘Swarg’ in second place with 23,700 viewers and ‘Bandhan’ at 19:00 with 20,400 viewers.

On Star Life Ok, ‘Amrit Manthan’ was the most watched show with 45,500 viewers, followed by ‘Savdhaan India’ with 42,300 viewers and ‘Devon Ka Dev Mahadev’ next with 24,500 viewers.

On ITV4, the Indian Premier League game yesterday drew 186,200 viewers – peaking at 361,000 viewers.
