The UK TV premiere of ‘Hasee Toh Phasee’ on Colors last night underperformed in the ratings, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsia.

The film, which was marketed heavily throughout the week on the channel and through various other mediums, could only pull in 7,700 viewers. ‘Hasee Toh Phasee’ starring Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra did average business at the box office and was expected to do well on telly. One reason for the low ratings could be down to the broadcaster not updating its EPG as it was displaying another movie title instead of ‘Hasee Toh Phasee’. Many viewers may have missed the movie when scanning through the Now/Next EPG banner on digital television.

‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ at 21:00 did much better with 54,100 viewers, while ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’ featuring the team of ‘Kaanchi’ pulled in 27,900 viewers.

On Star Plus, ‘Ishq Kills’ remained the most watched show on Sunday with 73,100 viewers, followed by ‘Koffee With Karan’ with 55,600 viewers and ‘Mad In India’ was third with 53,600 viewers.

On Rishtey, ‘Femina Miss India’ at 19:30 did well with 36,900 viewers, while discussion show ‘Aamne Samne’ at 21:30 got 32,300 viewers.

Above data is an overnight rating and may change slightly after consolidated figures become available in seven days from BARB.
