No Jennifer Lopez at IPL launch

One of the main highlight of the Indian Premier League’s next season was supposed to be a performance by the singer/Actor Jennifer Lopez. However, it seems like only Shah Rukh Khan,Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif will have to pull of the show as sources report that this performer from the west will not be able to make it after all.

“It is true that we still don’t have the confirmation of Jennifer Lopez till now. She was very excited initially but now she has cited date issues. However, SRK has not given up and we are trying to convince her. We are expecting a confirmation within three days,” said a Red Chillies official according to Times Of India.

However rumors are that Lopez has backed out because of a standoff over TV rights. The US channel that exclusively deals with and covers Lopez�۪s performances has apparently insisted on a hefty sum to pass over the exclusive rights to the Indian channel that holds the rights of the opening ceremony.

The highlight of the opening ceremony of the next season, is to be held on Salt Lake stadium in Kolkata on Tuesday 2nd April.
