No gangster-giri for Madhuri Dixit

With all the buzz about her upcoming release ‘Dedh Ishqiya’, speculation��about Madhuri Dixit playing a bad mouthed gangster in her follow up film ‘Gulab Gang’ has been��widely reported.

The actress has spoken against these��rumours and��said they are not true. “I don�۪t know where all these things (about abuses) came from. There is nothing abusive in the movie. It is not even about����gangsters. In the film women are not gangsters… they are vigilantes. It is about a group of women who help other women and help solve their problems. So that is what fascinated me about that.. as it is all about women power. They are not gangsters,” Hindustan Times report the actress as saying.

Directed by Soumik Sen, ‘Gulab Gang’ tells the story of a group of women fighting against social injustice, with Dixit as the lead. It has been said to release on Woman’s Day next year and will also star Mahie Gill and��’Chak De India’ (2007) star Shilpa Shukla.
