Nitya Mehra on Katrina Kaif: “There is a mystery about her”

Nitya Mehra’s directorial debut ‘Baar Baar Dekho’ is garnering attention from all areas with audiences praising her success in promoting chemistry between a new lead pair; superstar Katrina Kaif and the new chocolate boy of the silver screen, Sidharth Malhotra of ‘Ek Villain’ (2014) fame.

According to��New Indian Express, when asked the reason she chose these two particular actors to play the lead protagonists for her movie, Mehra explained,��”I wanted to cast my male protagonist first and I chose Sidharth because of the warmth and mystery in his eyes. I had seen him in ‘Hasee Toh Phasee’. There is a thairav in his personality and earnestness which suited perfectly for my character…I liked [Kaif]’s performance in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Raajneeti.”

Mehra added, “There is a mystery about her. No one really knows the real Katrina. I wanted to tap that.”

Sharing some details about her upcoming venture, the director shared, “The film is really about the small moments in life ��� and if you don�۪t pay attention, your life will pass you by and not much will be left. It is a love story which unfolds through intermittent flashbacks. In this film, everyone falls in love; it�۪s a very loving film.”

‘Baar Baar Dekho’ has been produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s company Excel Entertainment in conjunction with Dharma Productions and is set for release on 9th September.
