‘NH10’ divides Censor Board
Anushka Sharma, who is ready as producer with her upcoming release NH10۪, is probably having sleepless nights over the fact that her film his not getting a proper treatment from the CBFC members who are facing ambiguity to censor the film as the Examining Committee failed to zero in a decision.
Navdeep Singh, the director of the film, told Mumbai Mirror, I have no clue what they really want. I am informed that some members had an objection over few violent scenes but none cared for abusive language. We have not consulted for long and all I am told that Chairperson now will take the final call.
The producers are already getting flak as the film, which was initially booked for 6th March release, has been postponed for a week. Talking about reaching a compromise, Sharma said continued, Right now I am really perplexed about current happenings. I don۪t know what are they recommending? After two cancellations finally tomorrow we have a trial show. Everything will be okay until they have a command over the film which results in few cuts because we are confident about our product which is good and intriguing.
The chairperson of the Board said, I have not seen the film but if the members found it controversial they can send it to me. Therefore, either I will send the film to Revisiting Committee or the makers. If I choose I can join Revisiting Committee but that depends on my choice.
Asking about his personal choice, he said, I don۪t want to utter a single word as I didn۪t read the script or see the film. The files are ready and will come to me the day after. Hence we will take a decision.
